  • Am I able to use the Curling Tool on wet hair?

    To protect your hair and prevent damage, we recommend only using the Curling Tool on dry hair. For ultimate protection, use the Gisou Propolis Infused Heat Protecting Spray on your hair beforehand.

    How many mm/inches is the barrel of the Curling Tool? 

    The barrel size is 1 inch/25mm. 

    What is the best temperature to curl my hair?

    The best temperature to curl hair is different for each hair type and depends on the thickness of your hair. What we recommend: fine/medium hair: 160C – 180C (320 – 340F) and thick hair: 180C and above (340F and above). But we also recommend testing on a strand of hair to find the temperature that works best for your individual hair type. 

    How many temperature settings does the curling tool have? 

    The curling tool has 10 different temperature settings. (140C – 230C) (280F – 450F) 

    What are the features that the Gisou Curling Tool offers? How is it different from other curling irons?

    The curling tool features include: 1-inch ceramic barrel, 2.5M swivel cord, digital display, 10 temperature settings with temperature lock, and automatic safety shut down. It also has the custom beehive-inspired design by Negin.

    How do I clean my Gisou Curling Tool? 

    To properly clean the Gisou Curling Tool, wipe the exterior with a damp cloth, avoiding the use of sharp, abrasive or corrosive products and detergents. 

    How do I use the Curling Tool for different curling routines and techniques? How do I create Negin’s signature curls? 

    NEGIN’S SIGNATURE CURLS: 

    • Step 1: Make sure hair is dry. For optimal hold, start by applying the Gisou Propolis Infused Polishing Primer. Then, follow-up with the Propolis Infused Heat Protecting Spray for heat protection up to 230C or 446F. 
    • Step 2: Section hair off from the ear down and secure the rest out of the way with a hair clip. 
    • Step 3: Take a section of loose hair and starting at the roots, wrap hair around the curling iron in an outward direction, away from the face, while holding the iron horizontally. Do not twist the curling tool. 
    • Step 4: Hold the hair around the curling tool for 5-10 seconds, depending on hair thickness. 
    • Step 5: Release the curl into your hands. 
    • Step 6: Repeat steps 3-5 for remaining hair. 
    • Step 7: Allow hair to cool down.
    • Step 8: Gently comb out the curls with a wide-toothed comb starting from the bottom and working towards the top. 
    • Step 9: Finish off your style with the Honey Infused Hair Oil to smooth any frizz or flyways and to add a ton of shine! 

    NATURAL BEACHY WAVES:

    • Step 1: Make sure hair is dry. For optimal hold, start by applying the Gisou Propolis Infused Polishing Primer. Then, follow-up with the Propolis Infused Heat Protecting Spray for heat protection up to 230C or 446F. 
    • Step 2: Section hair off from the ear down and secure the rest out of the way with a hair clip. 
    • Step 3: Take a section of loose hair and starting at the roots, wrap hair around the curling iron in an outward direction, away from the face, while holding the iron vertically or on a slight angle. Do not twist the curling tool. 
    • Step 4: Hold the hair around the curling tool for 3-8 seconds, depending on hair thickness. 
    • Step 5: Release the curl into your hands. 
    • Step 6: For the next section of hair, wrap hair around the curling iron in an inward direction, toward the face, while twisting the curling iron. 
    • Step 7: Repeat steps 3-6 for remaining hair, alternating the direction that hair is wrapped around the curling iron with each strand of hair. 
    • Step 8: Allow hair to cool down. 
    • Step 9: Gently comb out the curls with a wide-toothed comb starting from the bottom and working towards the top. 
    • Step 10: Finish off your style with the Honey Infused Hair Oil to smooth any frizz or flyaways and to add a ton of shine and/or the Propolis Infused Texturizing Wave Spray for added texture.

    How do I use the Curling Tool to style my curtain bangs? 

    • Step 1: Section out your curtain bangs and clip away the rest of the hair. 
    • Step 2: Make sure hair is dry. For optimal hold, start by applying the Gisou Propolis Infused Polishing Primer. Then, follow-up with the Propolis Infused Heat Protecting Spray for heat protection up to 230C or 446F. 
    • Step 3: Comb the section of the hair forward. 
    • Step 4: Wrap the hair around the curling tool backward away from the face while holding the curling tool horizontally. 
    • Step 5: Hold the hair around the curling tool for 3-8 seconds, depending on hair thickness. 
    • Step 6: Allow hair to cool down. 
    • Step 7: Gently comb out bangs. 
    • Step 8: Touch up the ends if needed by wrapping them around the curling tool, in an outward direction, away from the face.
    • Step 9: For added texture, spray the Propolis Infused Textuizing Wave Spray on your fingertips to shape and define your curtain bangs with your fingers.

How to use

Curling Tool
  • First, apply the Propolis Infused Heat Protecting Spray. Then, section hair, adjust heat depending on your hair's texture. Curl the hair away from the face (including the ends) in one direction and smooth with brush for big, soft, voluminous curls. Curl the hair in alternate directions (while leaving the ends out) then spray the Propolis Infused Texturizing Wave Spray. Run fingers through the curls to create loose, textured beach waves.
