Can I return my order?

Yes, you can return your unused and unopened Gisou products free of charge within 30 days after the shipment arrival date. Please consult our return policy and instructions on our Returns page.

I think my package is lost, what do I do?

We always strive to provide the best possible service. In case your package was lost or you received it damaged, please reach out to info@gisou.com so we can help you as soon as possible.

Why don't you ship worldwide?

We are working on it and hope to expand our shipping reach in the near future.

What is Subscribe & Save?

Glow on repeat with Subscribe & Save. The best and most convenient way to keep our glow topped up. Choose the 'Subscribe & Save' option at checkout and we'll automatically send you your honey-infused faves straight to your door based on your chosen frequency. We've made it nice and easy for you to use, customised to your shopping schedule. Is there a minimum amount of replenishment cycles?

Yes, all subscription purchases require a minimum commitment of three replenishment cycles. This policy ensures continuity of supply and helps us maintain the best pricing and service for our subscribers. After completing the third cycle, you’ll have the flexibility to pause, modify, or cancel your subscription at any time.

How do I access my account?

You can access your customer portal through your store account login. If you have not registered an account, you will need to create an account using the same email address used at checkout. Once your account is registered, you can log in and access your customer portal by clicking on the Manage Subscriptions link.

How do I cancel or amend the frequency of my Subscribe & Save order?

We've made it nice and easy for you to manage your Subscribe & Save orders to give you full control of topping up your glow. You can change your shipment frequency, pause or cancel anytime* by clicking on the Manage subscriptions tab in your customer portal. Changes to orders can be made 24 hours before the next scheduled shipment date.

Change an order date

While you're changing the date, following orders will be rescheduled based on this next order and the delivery frequency of the subscription. In the View your next order tab in your customer portal, click Reschedule. The reschedule modal will display an estimated charge date to reschedule the order based on the frequency of the subscription. For example, if your subscription is on a 30 day frequency, the modal will suggest a reschedule date one month from the original charge date. Select the new order date and click Save changes to confirm.

Skip an order

Skipping your next order will skip all subscriptions within the order. One-time products cannot be skipped and will get rescheduled to the following order. There are two ways you can skip an order in your customer portal.Option 1 - Skip your next order directly in the View your next order tabOption 2 - View upcoming orders to select order for skip

Skip a subscription

To skip your subscription, click the Manage subscriptions tab. Under the subscription you want to skip, select Manage this subscription. You can also access this page by selecting the subscription product within an order.

Amend shipment frequency

To edit the frequency for a subscription: Click the Manage subscriptions tab in your customer portal. Under the subscription you want to edit, select Manage this subscription. You can change the quantity of products and frequency, then select Save changes to confirm.

Add a one-time product to an order

One-time products can be added to your order. Login to your customer portal to add products: In the View your next order tab, select Browse all products. You can also select +Add from the quick view menu. Click +Add on the desired product. Select the One time only option and click Add to order to confirm.

Pause subscription item

To pause your subscription: Click the Manage subscriptions tab in your customer portal. Under the subscription you want to pause, select Manage this subscription. Click Cancel subscription and the pause a subscription options will display. Select how long you want to pause your subscription for and click Pause subscription.

Cancel subscription item

To cancel your subscription: Click the Manage subscriptions tab in your customer portal .Under the subscription you want to cancel, select Manage this subscription. I want to reactivate a subscription, how do I do this?

Click the Manage subscriptions tab in your customer portal. Select Inactive. Click +Reactivate to reactivate a cancelled subscription.

Can I change the shipping address for an upcoming Subscribe & Save order?

You cannot edit the address for a specific subscription. Instead, you must update the address for all subscriptions delivered to the same address. You can edit your address via your customer portal.

I need my product sooner than the order date originally scheduled, what do I do?

If you find you need to top up sooner than expected, you can process your order immediately rather than the order date originally scheduled. After an order is processed, the next charge date for the subscriptions in the order gets recalculated based on the subscriptions frequency. For example, if the subscription gets delivered every month and today is January 1st, after I click order now, my next order will now happen on February 1st. To send your order now: Log into your customer portal and in the View your next order tab, click Send now.

Which payment methods do you accept?

We accept the following payment methods:

In what currency can I pay my order?

If you are purchasing from our EU website, all payments will be handled in Euros.

If you are purchasing from our US/CAN website, all payments will be handled in US dollars.

If you are purchasing from our UK website, all payments will be handled in GBP.

Will I have to pay import duties?

If you placed an order from the EU on our EU website or the USA on our USA/CAN website, you will not have to pay import duties to receive your order.


There is a possibility that you might have to pay import duties depending on the custom laws of the delivery country. Please advise our Shipping & Returns page for more details.

What can I do if my payment has failed?

There may be several reasons for why payment for an order has failed. Please reach out to our Customer Experience team by emailing info@gisou.com so we can help you further.

Where can I find my invoices?

You receive an order summary in your order confirmation email after you have placed an order. You can also find your order history in your Gisou account. If you wish to receive an invoice, please contact our Customer Experience team at info@gisou.com so we can send it to you.

What is VAT?

VAT is Value Added Tax, which are the taxes paid on top of the value from the sale of products or services.

Both customers inside and outside the EU pay VAT on their purchases.

How long does it take to receive my refund?

Depending on your bank account account, it may take up to 14 days to receive your refund. You will receive the payment back on the account that you also paid from.

My Gisou product didn't work for my hair!

We’re sorry if you ever have an unfavourable experience with one of our products! It may take a while for your hair to get used to our products. Therefore, we ask you to be patient for a while. We also recommend not using more than what we recommend. For instance, for the Honey Infused Hair Oil, we recommend not to use more than 1-3 drops. 

It will be my first time trying Gisou. What product do you recommend?

If we could make one recommendation that works for all hair types, we suggest you try our iconic Honey Infused Hair Oil. Based on a homemade family recipe with honey from the Mirsalehi Bee Garden, the Honey Infused Hair Oil is the ultimate multipurpose oil for frizz prevention, hydration, nourishment and shine. We offer it in a 20ml and 50ml bottle. However, what products you use all depends on your own hair care needs. For further recommendations, you can reach out to info@gisou.com.

I have naturally curly hair. Which products do you recommend for curly hair types?

Although all of our products are suitable for all hair types, the Honey Gloss Ceramide Therapy Hair Mask and Honey Infused Hair Oil are especially great for curly hair types as they contain richly hydrating ingredients ideal for dryer, curly hair types.

Are Gisou products suitable for all hair types?

Gisou products are suitable for all hair types. Depending on your hair’s type and thickness, you can determine the right dosage for your hair to achieve the best results.

How do I use the dropper of the Honey Infused Hair Oil?

The proper way to use the dropper is to: gently squeeze the teat and hold for 3 seconds. Release the teat and let the tube fill itself with the Honey Infused Hair Oil for another 3 seconds. Gently pull the dropper out of the bottle and apply the Honey Infused Hair Oil to your hair accordingly. 

Should I use the Honey Infused Hair Oil on wet or dry hair?

You can apply the Honey Infused Hair Oil on both wet and dry hair. Please see the complete How to Use instructions, including all of the different ways you can use the Honey Infused Hair Oil here.

Can I use the Honey Gloss Ceramide Hair Mask on dry hair or do I have to wash/wet it first?

HOW TO USE - INSTANT TREATMENT

After shampooing, squeeze out excess water and evenly apply a generous amount of the hair mask over the lengths and ends of your hair. Wait for 5-7 minutes. Rinse thoroughly. Lightweight enough to use at every wash.

HOW TO USE - PRE-WASH TREATMENT

Dampen hair and apply the hair mask from your lengths to ends. Wait for 20 minutes. Rinse, then follow with Shampoo and Conditioner.

HOW TO USE - OVERNIGHT TREATMENT

Apply a liberal amount of the Hair Mask to clean, dry hair, coating it from lengths to ends. Leave this on overnight before washing it out in the morning with shampoo, then follow up with your conditioner.

Why do you recommend using a conditioner after the Honey Gloss Ceramide Therapy Hair Mask?

A shampoo opens the hair cuticles to cleanse the hair of dirt and product buildup. The open cuticles present the Honey Gloss Ceramide Therapy Hair Mask with the perfect opportunity to deliver its concentrated nourishment of vitamins and minerals. A conditioner helps to lock in all of the nourishment and moisture from the Honey Gloss Ceramide Therapy Hair Mask by sealing and closing the hair cuticle back up.

What is the scent of the Honey Infused Hair Oil vs the Honey Infused Hair Perfume?

All of the products in our Honey Infused line have our signature Honey Infused fragrance. Our Honey Infused Hair Perfume is just a concentrated version!

How do I use the Propolis Infused Polishing Primer?

The Propolis Infused Polishing Primer can be applied on both wet or dry hair, pre- and post-styling to add volume, enhance styling results, prevent damage and dehydration and make your hairstyle last. It reduces drying time and is great at preventing frizz!

Is it OK to use expired Gisou products?

All our Gisou products have a shelf life of 36 months if unopened. After the products have been opened, we recommend to use them within 1 year. Therefore, it is up to your discretion. We don't recommend using expired Gisou products. We can only vouch for positive effects of non-expired products.

Which of your products do you recommend to promote hair growth?

Although we don't claim that any of our products are proven to promote hair growth, all of our haircare helps to maintain and improve the health of your hair and scalp, which may have a positive effect on hair growth. If we could make a suggestion to promote the health of your hair, we would start with your washing routine by trying out our sulfate- and silicone-free Honey Infused Hair Wash & Conditioner. For deep nourishment and hydration, we recommend enhancing your washing routine by using our Honey Gloss Ceramide Therapy Hair Mask 1-2 a week.

Is the packaging made of sustainable materials?

We are committed to reducing our impact on the environment. All of our paper-based packaging is made of FSC-certified paper from sustainably managed forests; we work with materials such as sugarcane, aluminum and recycled plastic instead of regular plastic;  and we are continuously looking for ways to improve our packaging by working with more recycled, recyclable and biodegradable materials.

Where are the ingredients sourced?

Our key ingredients are sustainably sourced from the Mirsalehi Bee Garden, where our founder Negin Mirsalehi and her father continue the 6-generation tradition of beekeeping. Please read more about our sustainable approach to beekeeping on our Story page.

Where are your products manufactured?

All of our products, except for the Honey Infused Hair Perfume, are manufactured in the Netherlands, where both Gisou HQ and the Mirsalehi Bee Garden are based as well.

Do you offer all-natural products?

Although our products contain natural ingredients, they are not 100% natural or vegan. We never communicate or promote our products to be 100% natural or vegan. However, we do promise that our products are created with all-natural, bee-sourced ingredients sustainably derived from the Mirsalehi Bee Garden, which will benefit your hair. The decision to include certain ingredients in our formulas is based on our belief that the result and the function of a product are just as important as the ingredients.

Why does the Honey Infused Hair Oil contain silicones?

The decision to include certain ingredients, such as silicones, in our formulas is based on our belief that the result and the function of a product are just as important as the ingredients. In this case, the addition of silicones is meant to give the Honey Infused Hair Oil a dry oil effect to prevent the hair from becoming greasy.

Do Gisou products contain fragrance?

Our products do not have a 100% natural fragrance. All our products have a wonderful hybrid fragrance that is 1/3 natural, 1/3 synthetic & 1/3 nature identical.

Are your products animal-friendly and/or tested on animals?

Gisou is created with the mission to support the honey bees and all that they do for the ecosystem. All Gisou products, which are enriched with ingredients from the Mirsalehi Bee Garden, are produced in a bee friendly and sustainable manner. We always prioritize the well-being of the bees and let them guide our beekeeping practices to obtain Mirsalehi Honey and Mirsalehi Propolis, our key ingredients, basing our production on the harvesting cycle, and only taking their surplus if and when appropriate. Please note that it is illegal to test cosmetic products or ingredients on animals, and we are of course in compliance with this law, as well as with all the European Cosmetic Regulations.

Do you sell Mirsalehi honey?

No, we unfortunately do not sell the Mirsalehi Honey at the moment but perhaps in the future, if the Mirsalehi Honey Bees are up for it of course! Please read more about ‘Our Bee-Centered Approach’ here.

How can you be a cruelty-free company is you use Honey Bees to produce some of your ingredients?

At Gisou, we are passionate about our Mirsalehi Honey Bees. That is why we let the bees guide our beekeeping practices to derive Mirsalehi Honey, Propolis, our key ingredients. We take only what the honey bees don’t need themselves - the surpluses - if and when appropriate, and base our production calendar on the harvesting cycle. We are currently not accredited by any cruelty-free organization, but please know that we have been working on it for some time now and are in the process of obtaining our accreditation by Cruelty-Free International.
